So much web and nowhere to talk to

I got frazzled for a bit.

Got this blog, got another and yet another. Then the forums, the social interactive sites...Frazzled.

I figured, this is the best place today. I don't know, don't feel like posting as the real, ID-wise, me.

I fell and hit my knee....BUAAAAA

On the way to work. I just...flew...and fell. Scraped the skin on my knee and palms of my hands but not too much, it's not bleeding. Hurts a bit, now that I am sitting, with the jeans touching it. *Pout*

I shouldn't think of throwing the shoes while wearing the shoes. Do you think the shoes took revenge? It could also be the boss jinxing me. I choked a little bit ago. Hrmm...

Favorite expression = Anyhow...

I enter the buildings, and there is this horrible unwashed, human body, odor lingering in the corridors. Then I realize it's not lingering on its own. There is someone stinking, walking in front of me. Crap, they take the same elevator that I want. Then on the 4th floor, as I get out, another horrible stink befalls me. Animal facility stink.

I don't know what's worse. Bliah!

Going for coffee now. Lots to do today, no rush to do it.

There is something like lusting over a gadget for a long time and then going around betraying it, like a flirt between a woman and two men.

For the longest time I was all about G1 and then in an afternoon I fell completely for the iPhone.

The fact that I can listen to music online all the time, that I can browse the web all the time, that I am right now posting on the train a blog...Gasp.

I am so sleepy.

That's it, nothing else.

I have the i Pod blasting metal in my ear canals and still nothing shakes loose inside my head. I just need a pillow and then I will perform my best imitation of the living dead.

Can't wait to go home and in my bed again. NEED SLEEP. Didn't get much during the weekend. My poor brain is fried. Me needs zzzzzzzzzzs.

Green Ouzo

First came Bri.

I thought "he" was Deunan at first, since her box was sent first. Opening the box quickly clarified the occupant's identity, and big, matte and utterly handsome Bri, the cyborg hecantonchires unit, joined Dia's household of Transformers and Ghost in the Shell characters.

I never thought I would collect "toys", but here I am. Bri from Hot toys is really remarkable. I am going to take pics (when?) and put them up, here, @ Amazon and everywhere.

Deunan didn't come right away. I got a bit worried with her, being on the Fedex truck back and forth, poor thing. Her box came somewhat bumped and bruised, but her gorgeous self was unharmed. She, and he, come with all their plastic, "deadly" accessories. Her sword, his guns...*gasp-thud-spasm* SHUDDUP, I do like them both, yes, exactly as you are thinking.

Will I order Tereus too? My concern, is space. Right now we are crammed as we are, and if I get another huge "doll" where am I going to put it. Hmm...Deunan does deserve her two men, and so do I. Will see.

I also got lots of other goodies. Yes, I solemny pledge that I have helped the economy this year. I got Hellboy II, PoisonBlack and Sirenia's CDs, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles season 1, Galactica TNS season 3, and Galactica: Razor.

We had very bad weather this past week. Part of Deunan's oddysey was due to inclement weather. During Wednesday's early morning hours lots of snow piled in and around Philly, making it impossible for the truck to deliver.

I had my share of skiding adventures on top of a generous patch of black ice to last me for a year. Right outside work, too. There is a black bruise on my knee that hurts when I kneel or walk fast. Nothing more serious though.

Weekend was perfect. We managed to wake up while there was still light and life out side. I did odd ends and errands on Saturday, and then we went for brunch at Le Parc. Very nice omellette and if I may say, Absinthe, that I finally tasted, is green Ouzo. Or Tsipouro. Really, nobody else knows that? Which is kind of good for us, because if we can't find good ouzo we can probably sub with Absinthe.

I cracked up when they brought me the drink, which was kind of stiff for brunch, along with ice and water. I immediately smelled the fragrance and I knew it's going to turn while with ice. The same chemistry that works with Ouzo. But it is, ouzo, or ouzo is absinthe. Very funny situation. So, I ended up very cheerful with two fingers and then we went home. I had a shower and went for a nap, but it lasted a bit longer than I was planning. All good though, I woke up and watched half a season's worth of Dexter epis on Demand.

Yesterday, Sunday, first day of February, we went shopping at Franklin Mills for shoes and underwear. At least these days hubby buys along with me, he is not suffering. He even helps me pick things. He is well trained! I love him. I got some new Nine West summer sandals that are very comfortable and somewhat edgy. They have a metal plate on top. Hehee.. I like metal!

Then we did grocerry shopping and back home to cook and put grocerries away. Hubby made pizza and fried eggs with fries. He prepped me spring mix salad and tomato and cucumber for him. For dessert we had strawberries.

Then we sat to eat and started on the last half of Dexter's season 3. Very good, they haven't jumped the shark this season either. Good writing and contrasting storylines. And I just love his potty-mouthed, but utterly kick ass sister, Debra.

Enough, I should go to bed. Monday is now and I am working in less than 7 hours. Or so I am supposed to. What am I doing on Monday? It's all a blur, things are not what they are meant to be, patience, yes, that's all is left. Summer is going to come, and hopefully I will be fine to enjoy some change.

God willing.

The best thing that happened today

I am having a huge TGIF moment.

For all the experiments that went well, the one that didn't is making my whole day bleak.

But, something happened that brought a huge smile and palpitations out.

I was watching the last epi for the season from Knight Rider, the one that's called "Knight to King's pawn" and what a surprise to hear Optimus Prime's voice, aka Peter Cullen, speaking for KARR.

I just couldn't see KARR as a villain anymore, all I could think is "please, talk more".

And then they killed him.

x_0

Soon we will see the next Transformers and OP will be talking again.

Is it wrong to have a voice crush?

"We will become one!" *thud*

Are reality shows taking it too far?

This is my personal opinion, I think with this new one from Scifi, they just stepped over the line.

It's called Chase.

From the Scifi website:

They can run. But can they hide?

CHA$E, an action-packed, edge-of-your-seat reality show, pits Runners against each other on life sized "game boards" in the quest for cash. But in order to win, they must avoid being caught by the relentless Hunters who stalk them during the games.

All is fair in competition and money. Some will be savvy and others will be sacrificed.

The action takes place throughout various locations in Los Angeles like San Pedro Harbor, Universal Theme Park and the Descanso Gardens.

In CHA$E Runners must also be conscious of their time. As the clock counts down, the tasks get harder and the Hunters grow more insistent.Every second they go uncaught leads them closer to winning a cash prize of up to $50,000. Tune in to find out who will escape the chase.

Okay, it will probably be naive and fun, but what are the chances this is a stepping stone for something more edgier, more uncontrolled and dangerous? What will stop the masterminds of gaming from making the bets higher? Why would they stop here and not reach the ideas scifi writers have long time ago. Remember the Running Man movie with Schwartzenegger? Or the Roller Ball movie with Rebecca Romijn?

And the whole way it's set up. That stuck up, authoritarian "we can do whatever we want, because you know we are the best, we've been telling you so we convinced you for that" style the hunters have.

Ugh.

And I like Scifi channel. *shakes head*

Impact music

You know how you watch a trailer of your favorite upcoming movie and the music is so good and inspiring, overwhelming emotions and greatly paired to show off action or drama?

There is lots of thought behind this. I surf a lot, I wish it was at sea, but it's at the vast oceans of the web. I found by complete accident that the production company behind many impressive trailer sounds is called Immediate music. They can't sell you their stuff, unless you are in the movie business and making one, but they finally succumbed to the fans saying: "Please, sell it to the individual!" and they made a record label, under which they sell their most fabled songs and music. The record label is Imperativa music (the site is currently down - I have no luck today) and they have three records out. Epicon and Trailerhead are my favorites.

Also, in youtube you can search for Immediate music and find links to sample their music.

This is an example search.

This is an absolute favorite: Globus - Preliator

The lead singer of the above song, is a soprano called Lisbeth Scott. She has an impressive resume, has worked with many famous composers, and her voice has a strength that compares easily to some very big Opera names. Lisbeth also sung for the soundtrack of Narnia: Prince Caspian.

My music taste is all over the spectrum. Soon, I will post links to Death, gothic and symphonic rock.

Free, online statistics for all websites - Quantcast

I came across it by accident, just the other day. It's a very interesting site, you search for any website you want and then it gives you statistics, not only how many people and when, but also demographics analyzed to men/women and ages.

I have no idea how they figure the ages.

Quantcast

Check it out.

-Don't read if you are not for this type of posts-

If I don't write about it, then I will vent to him, so it's better that I write about it.

We didn't have D, and D we got (D being the initial of the first name of a certain colleague that made omellette with our balls in the past). Yes, the monsignor of the tissue culture. What did he expect? That the hood is his own to use when and if he needs it? I asked him for space since whenever and then he kept asking how much I need it and what not. Excuse me for wanting to work in the lab! He actually expects that he will have the luxury to the whole hood, for the whole day, for the whole week? Sheesh! Very bourgeosie! They saw that I am willing to negotiate times, but I won't be always the one to go to the side. And even if I am superfast, I am not willing to give him more space just so he can dilly-dally with it.

Pfft!

Wasted

I am so, so ...wasted.

Just by sitting in front of the 'puter all night, typing and clicking .

Nothing more exciting or festive. But yes, totally wasted.

On the bright side, tomorrow is the first of 4 vacation days, plus the holiday, plus the weekend.

On the non-so-bright side, people are particularly annoying today.

Alas, it gives me great pleasure to know they get pissed and upset too.

Mua-ha.

Disclaimer: Not my fault.
